The Spyderco Dragonfly 2 FRN (C28PBK2) is a small, very light carry knife with a blade of roughly 2.3 inches in VG-10 steel. It weighs only about 1.2 ounces, so it suits people who want a capable knife without any bulk. The black FRN handle has a molded texture and a deep finger choil that lets you choke up for detail work. Its blade shape has a generous belly for slicing and a pointed tip for fine work.
VG-10 is a Japanese stainless steel containing cobalt, known for a fine edge and good rust resistance. Even at this size, Spyderco’s Round Hole lets you open the blade with one thumb. A back lock holds the blade open, and a light press on the spine bar releases it. Jimping on the spine gives your thumb a non-slip spot for control.
A wire clip keeps the knife riding low and out of sight in a pocket. It is made in Seki, Japan, alongside the Delica and Endura. The Dragonfly 2 is a common pick for office carry, travel, and as a gift for someone new to pocket knives. Because it is so small, it is easy to keep on you every day, which is the best reason to carry any knife. The stainless Tattoo Dragonfly and other lockbacks are in our lockback knives.
