The Jabsco 24V Filterless Bilge, Sink and Shower Drain Pump (part 50880-1100) is a single-diaphragm pump made to empty shower sumps, galley sinks, and small bilge areas. It moves up to about 16 liters, or 3.5 gallons, per minute through 3/4-inch (19 mm) bore hose. Because it has no inlet filter, there is no screen to clog with soap scum and hair.
The diaphragm self-primes, so it can be mounted above the sump with a pickup line. The ports can be set in several positions to suit the hose layout. It also tolerates dry running, which is normal at the end of a shower drain cycle.
This version is for 24-volt boats, and a matching float switch or timer can automate it. Even without a filter, it pays to keep a hair catcher in the shower drain and clean the sump once a month.
