The Cold Steel Hunter Slock Master has a 3.5-inch satin 8Cr13MoV stainless drop point blade, a red glass filled nylon handle, a thumb stud, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip, closing to 4.88 inches on a lockback.
Red on a hunting folder is a practical choice. A dark handle set down beside an animal in poor light is easily lost, and a bright one is not. The drop point sits the tip below the spine line, so it stays out of the way when opening an animal and leaves a long belly for skinning.
8Cr13MoV sharpens back quickly on any stone and forgives neglect, which suits a knife touched up in the field rather than maintained carefully. Glass filled nylon keeps the weight down and resists the blood and moisture field dressing involves. Explore more Lockback Knives.
